Jacob Werksman
Jacob Werksman has served as Principal Adviser to the Directorate General for Climate Action in the European Commission since 2012, where his work is focused on international aspects of European climate policy. He is the EU’s Head of Delegation for the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, advising the commission on international partnerships to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. A lawyer specialising in international environmental and business law, Werksman has advised, taught and published extensively on the international legal dimensions of climate change policy. Prior to joining the commission, he held posts at the Rockefeller Foundation and the UNDP, among others. He is currently a visiting professor at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in the US.
